Downtown 03:53
Doesn’t matter if the sky is blue. The rain keeps falling down. I don’t know what I came here for. I just wanna be around. I don’t care if the whole damn place Is falling to the ground. I don’t care about a twist of fate. My love lies underground. Ya, ya, ya, ya, ya … Listen to the rhythm. Ya, ya, ya, ya, ya … Downtown. Kicks like a boot on stone. But we all come back for more. No church is gonna turn our heads. That’s not what we came here for. You give up everything That you work so hard for. Money, power, all that counts. Sex force will win the war. Ya, ya, ya, ya, ya … Listen to the rhythm. Ya, ya, ya, ya, ya … Downtown.

I got a note the other day. Says “I love you in so many ways.” I turned it over to the other side. It left the wrong house of love. That house – it’s pretty hard to find. I’ve looked around a long, long time. Pain and rage flow through the floors. Don’t stay inside. Don’t close the door. To the wrong house of love. The wrong house of love. The wrong house of love. Now, why can’t you see through the paint that’s peeled? The sink is rusted in this shack of steel. Bound and scarred, the hands of a child. God, get me out of here, let me outside! The wrong house of love. The wrong house of love. The wrong house of love.

Morning came, the shuffle of the day before Goes on and on and on. It’s going to start again, below my window They will come along, along, along. I see their faces every day, hidden behind the black. They don’t belong. They take their places and they pay, they don’t look back. There’s something wrong. People in boxes, deep behind the eyes is a pride so nameless. Picking up the pieces they find so priceless. Out in the street hungry eyes behind blank faces. Evening came, silent in the streets. But not for long. It’s never gone. Resurrect the fire. Keep it warm. Cold nights can be so long, so long, so long. People in boxes, deep behind the eyes … nameless.

Johnny 04:45
I’m coming for you, Johnny. I have a longing for you. I need to be with you and You need to be with me and We will be one together. You once were independent. Your future predetermined. But you have learned that you need, That even chrome machines bleed, And being full is empty. No one foresaw that you would alter your plan. But what we know is just a grain of sand. Yes, it’s the unknown I’m attracted to. You could say I was born to love you. So we will wander, Johnny. Yeah, we will wonder, Johnny. And we will love each other, And we’ll be one together, And we will live forever. And we will love each other, And we’ll be one together, And we will live forever. And we will love each other, And we’ll be one together, And we will live forever. Johnny, Johnny, Johnny, Johnny.

I don’t want no more of your mindless games. There aint no good or bad. It’s all the same. I don’t want no peace. I don’t want no war. I don’t want to fight for peace no more. Just leave me alone. Just leave me alone. Just leave me alone. Just leave me alone. I don’t want no religions. I don’t want your politicians Up your institutions. Just upsets my constitution. I won’t sign your petitions. I don’t have no opinions. I don’t have no solutions. You can keep your problems. Just leave me alone…. I don’t need this stress. I didn’t create this mess. I aint no part of this quagmire – East, Middle, or West. Just leave me alone….

Winless Game 03:37
a) You’re my good friend. Just like a brother to me. b) But I am not And don’t want to be. a) I’d like your help To find another boyfriend for me. b) What kind of deal is that? The last thing I want to see. a) We walk the town. After all, you know we’re good friends. b) Times like these, I wish I knew you less. a) Hours on the phone, I tell you about my life problems. b) Don’t mind at all. If only I was one of them. b) When will I learn that life is cruel? My friends tell me that I’m a fool. I should have known you’re not for me. There’s other fish out in the sea. c) You’re my good friend. Just like a sister to me. a) That’s not where I’m at, Not where I want to be. c) I’d like your help To find another girl for me. a) What kind of deal is that? The last thing I want to see. a, b) When will I learn that life is cruel? My friends tell me that I’m a fool. I should have known you’re not for me. There’s other fish out in the sea. a, c) I know your need. Meet my good friends. a, b) I’m paranoid. Are they your secret agents? a. b. c) Why oh why do you feel for me this way? Another turn of the winless game we play and play and play and play.

Days Go By 03:29
Days go by, only pieces of time. Clockwork pictures carved into my mind. All the old and the new, All left behind. Days go by. Days go by Days go by. Days go by. Years pass. Things don’t seem to last. A reminder of faults, broken dreams gone past. Numbed by the night, Both my hands on the glass. Days go by…. I wake up now, but it’s the same somehow. Where are you? I’ve got nothing to do. I can’t feel anything. I only feel you. Days go by….
8.
Now that you’ve gone, You’re just a song. What was major is minor. I can’t right what went wrong. These simple lines Are what’s left of our times. They help me to go you Outta my mind. Hooked on your eyes, You were my vice. You heat up my life Burned me like hot ice. Your ways and your beauty Well, they over came me. What will it take to be free? Cut you right out of me. Just get out. Get outta my mind. There’s no room left for you Inside of my mind. Just get out. Get out of my mind. Either you get or I’ll go Out of my mind.
9.
Silent haze, you surround yourself. Sweetness calls, just can’t help myself. These four walls hold up broken glass. And when I’m small, I know this can’t last. Oh, oh, oh. China’s calling. Oh, oh, oh. China’s.…. The names you call, the way you dress yourself. Too hot to touch. Maybe you know too much. Stand in lines, smoking and waiting. Stand for your brother, stop anticipating. Oh, oh, oh. China’s calling. Oh, oh, oh. China’s calling for you.
10.
So you think you know what’s happening And you know almost everything. What you know is a little more than nought. You are a baby in disguise. Innocent but not so wise. You believe that you are what the stork brought. I say this clearly: You are the apple of your ‘I’. I say this clearly: You are the apple of your ‘I’. You get so excited. And your eyes roll, your face turns red, Dealing with what doesn’t fit your plan. So you criticize and paralyze Those who criticize and paralyze. Annihilate what you don’t understand. I say this clearly: You are the apple of your ‘I’. I say this clearly: You are the apple of your ‘I’. Year after year, the Earth is spinning ‘round a star. Day after day, everyone wants to be a star. So relax. Count, “1 … 2 … 3 ….” Your eyes will open eventually. When they do, you’ll wonder where you’ve been. And you’ll deceive yourselves no more. Everyone will know the score. Finally, you’ll be the object of your dreams. I say this clearly: You are the apple of your ‘I’. I say this clearly: You are the apple of your ‘I’.
