All the messages that we receive, They drive me wild. Why don’t you show yourself to me? Blindly believing that you are real, I’m not a child. And it’s not easy. To live. To sing. To tell the whole world all these things. To question no more. To pick ourselves up from the floor. So you’re a traveler. Why is it that you hide? Maybe the reason isn’t clear. You could be using us to satisfy an evil plan. How long have you been here? We live. We sing. We tell the whole world all these things. We question no more. We pick ourselves up from the floor. All the messages that we receive, They drive me wild. Why don’t you show yourself to me? Blindly believing that you are real, I’m not a child. And it’s not easy. And it’s not easy. And it’s not easy.

Silent haze, you surround yourself. Sweetness calls, I just can’t help myself. These four walls hold up broken glass. And when I’m small, I know this can’t last. Oh, oh, oh. China’s calling. Oh, oh, oh. China’s calling for you. The names you call, oh, the way you dress yourself. Too hot to touch. Maybe you know too much. Stand in lines, smoking and waiting. Stand for your brother, stop anticipating. Oh, oh, oh. China’s calling. Oh, oh, oh. China’s calling for you. Crazy, it’s wrong. How can this go on so long? Passion touch. Breaking each other’s hearts. Silent haze, sweetness calls. Broken hearts; but I’m so small, so small. Oh, oh, oh. China’s calling. Oh, oh, oh. China’s calling. Oh, oh, oh. China’s calling. Oh, oh, oh. China’s calling for you.

They Tell Us 02:39
Deciding what to do in life is hard enough. But battling society, that really makes it tough. People all around me say that I should be like them. “You can’t change the world.” they say, “That’s work for better men.” They tell us. It’s hopeless. Don’t listen. Well, I’m not one to lap things up not caring all the while. Complacency is not for me and pretence not my style. I’ve work to do and things to say in quest of better ways. Discontent is my content. There’s questions I should raise. They tell us. It's pointless. Don’t notice. But, there’s this pressure ... Constant pressure ... Got to weather it ... ‘Cause its a pleasure... Like the promise ... Of the sirens. They tell us. They tell us. It’s hopeless. It’s hopeless. Don’t listen. Don’t notice. They make it difficult for one to get ahead. Mired in mediocrity from their toes up to their heads. Looks like it’ll take some time to show them something new. The best approach for me to take is do what I can do. They tell us. They tell us. It’s hopeless. It’s pointless. Don’t listen. Don’t notice. They tell us. We’ve no choice. But I won’t be A part of the machine.

Johnny 05:18
I’m coming for you, Johnny. Johnny I have a longing for you. Johnny I need to be with you and you need to be with me and we will be one together. Johnny, we will be happy. Johnny You once were independent. Johnny Your future predetermined. Johnny But you have learned that you need, that even chrome machines bleed, that being full is empty. Johnny, empty. Johnny. Johnny No one foresaw that you would alter your plan. But what we know is just a grain of sand. Yes, it’s the unknown I’m attracted to. You could say I was born to love you. So, we will wander, Johnny. Johnny And we will wonder, Johnny. Johnny And we will love each other, and we’ll be one together, and we will live forever. Johnny, you and me. We will love. And we will love each other. We’ll be one. And we’ll be one together. We will live. And we will live forever. Johnny, you and me. Johnny Johnny Johnny Johnny

The wrong house of love. The wrong house of love. I got a note the other day. Says “I love you in so many ways.” I turned it over to the other side. It left the wrong house of love. That house – it’s pretty hard to find. I’ve looked around a long, long time. Pain and rage flow through the floors. Don’t stay inside. Don’t close the door. To the wrong house of love. The wrong house of love. The wrong house of love. Why can’t you see through the paint that’s peeled? The sink is rusted in this shack of steel. Bound and scarred, the hands of a child. God, get me out of here, let me outside! The wrong house of love. The wrong house of love. The wrong house of love. The wrong house of love. The wrong house of love. The wrong house of … I got a note the other day. It says “I love you in so many ways.” I turned it over to the other side. It was the wrong house, wrong time… The wrong house of love. The wrong house of love. The wrong house of love. The wrong time, wrong place, wrong house of love.

Bewitched 03:54
Embroidering threads of our love Enough to rely on. Reaching out for help from above, To you I will surrender. When our paths crossed – heard the beat of my heart. Can’t hold on the memories. Gone full circle, now we’re back at the start. Take your time; but please remember Don’t fight the change. Break it down. I feel the power, When you’re around. Sometimes the hurst is what we need To make us feel the passion. Although we both refuse to concede, The night is long and we’re still together. Embers still glow; but the fire subsides. You lay in my arms in the dream. We’ve put it off … now it’s time to decide: Stay or go out into the night. Don’t fight the change. Break it down. I feel the power, When you’re around. Such emotion locked up inside. How can I show you with my conscience as my guide? You are my truth … my reason to be Don’t fight the change. Break it down. I feel the power, When you’re around.

It's a Shame 07:35
Walking alone, Wondering if to take another chance. Stripped to the bone, Afraid to start a new romance. Afraid to make waves, Secure … the barriers up high. When feelings are saved, Sometimes it’s so hard to try. Too many people giving advice. Deny the truth, pay the price. “Too soon”, you say. Not the way that we had it planned. Live day to day. Try to understand. We’re on the same plane. Two injured birds trying to fly. Come to my side. Together we’ll reach for the sky. Too many people giving advice. Deny the truth, pay the price. It’s a shame. Shadows of time Don’t cool the burning my mind Of loves that have hurt. Sometimes life isn’t kind. When feelings aren’t true, Maybe we should leave them in the past. Don’t you feel blue. Find a way to make our love last. Too many people giving advice. Deny the truth, pay the price. Too many people giving advice. Deny the truth, pay the price. It’s a shame.

Life is not what it seems. Some people float along, others live out their dreams. Reach in your soul. Those thoughts that awaken, sure you don’t mind ‘Cause you’re whole. You don’t need no help. You help yourself. Take a bigger step. You help yourself. Take it all this time. You help yourself. Doubt and inaction can kill. If you don’t believe in you, then no one else will. Time after time. You get to the front And leave the others behind. You don’t need no help. You help yourself. Take a bigger step. You help yourself. Take it all this time. You help yourself. How do you feel? You feel … you feel … you feel? Chance plays no part in your game. You get to the front; you don’t wait until they call out your name. Time on your side. Your head held high; the future’s what you decide. You don’t need no help. You help yourself. Take a bigger step. You help yourself. Take it all this time. You help yourself. How do you feel? You feel … you feel … you feel?

The Move 05:12
It’s hard to believe it, when nothing’s right. Try to believe it. It’ll get better when the dream’s in sight. Sometimes I feel like stealing in the night. A get away. Don’t be tight. The other side, it tells me “Stay Around”. Another day. It’s a life. Too many choices ripping me apart. At the seams. Hang on tight. Don’t let conformity eat you away. The mainstream. We must fight. It’s hard to believe it, when nothing’s right. Try to believe it. It’ll get better when the dream’s in sight. They bow to kings they have never seen. New media. What’s it mean? Don’t want to be a part of the machine. Andromeda. I could scream! It’s hard to believe it, when nothing’s right. Try to believe it. It’ll get better when the dream’s in sight. It doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter what they say. I’m far away. No sense in running. No sense in running from the things That don’t move you. That don’t move you.

about

This album is the second of a 2-album collection of recordings of live and studio performances in 1989-1990 by the Vancouver indie-alternative rock band The Fault. The Fault was previously Jonnē Krōm, until singer Sue Baim joined the band to share lead-singer duties with Graeme Chard, as well as to play guitar and write songs. All the songs are original. Six songs on this album were recorded live at a Dec. 22, 1990 concert at the Vancouver East Cultural Centre. Three songs were recorded at a June 19, 1990 concert at the Commodore Ballroom. Only one song on this album, Johnny, was recorded in a studio - actually two studios: Blue Wave Studios and Profile Studios in 1989. None of these recordings were available to or heard by the public until March 15, 2021.
